Encaustic Open Studio Summer Sessions with Linda Mayer-Now Available at Valley Art Center

Do you have some encaustic work in progress that you’d like to finish? Ready to begin working on a new encaustic piece? Would you like to work in the company of other encaustic artists? If so, my summer Encaustic Open Studio sessions are for you! Encaustic Open Studio is for artists already familiar with the basics of encaustic painting and safe working practices. This 4 hour shared studio experience is a great way to meet other artists also working with this versatile medium. This is not a formal teaching workshop but I will be there to answer questions. I will provide you with hot palettes, surface thermometers and heat guns. Participants will bring work in progress, prepared panels, encaustic medium, encaustic paints, natural bristle brushes, tins, and any other materials you wish to use in your artwork. Small quantities of encaustic medium, paints, boards and brushes will be available for purchase. You may bring artwork already in progress or start something new. Please limit the size of the work you bring to about 8” x 10”.
